How to set up Solbello 

Solbello includes one auger, a sail attached to the pole, a few bungees, and anchors. All are packed in one convenient bag that can be worn across your body.

There are 2 ways to set up Solbello. The standard setup is used in windy conditions and the no-wind kit is used when there’s light or no wind at all.

The standard setup:

1. Unpack all the components.
2. Open the handle and place the auger into the sand. Screw clockwise until the pole is settled in sand. You should use the red line as a reference point for how deep you should screw the pole. Remember that the depth might vary based on the density of the sand.
3. Unroll the sail from the top pole
4. Push the center slide upward until the sail is fully opened. Place it on top of the bottom pole. The direction of the sail should depend on the direction of the wind.

The no-wind kit

1. Set up the device the same as the Standard setup. 
2. Hook each bungee to the two end corners of the sail.
3. Plant the anchor into the sand far enough from the pole that the sail extends but does not stretch. 

*Note: If the wind gets stronger (>5MPH), you should immediately remove the wind kit to protect the sail from stretching and tearing.

Solbello uses the wind as a way to keep the sail straight, forming a shaded area enough for 4-5 people to enjoy. Its pole is self-adjusted, so you won’t have to worry about the sudden change in the direction of the wind. Since the canopy is powered by the wind, the stronger the wind, the better this device will work.

What if there is no wind?

At the beach, 90% of the time the wind speed won’t be less than 4mph which is enough to sustain Solbello’s sail. But if your beach does not have that kind of wind or you want to use the device in a less windy area then you can follow the instruction in the No-wind-kit setup. 

Is it noisy?

Due to its mechanism, Solbello is bound to make flapping sounds in the wind. But this is the same as the flapping sound of a flag flying in the wind and wouldn’t be to the point of intolerable.
